Barbara has been a member of the Steering Group for the Galway annual Intercultural Festival and BBQ since it was set up in 2008. This Intercultural Festival and BBQ was an annual event organised by Galway City Partnership, in collaboration with Galway Intercultural Forum. Intercultural Festival attracted over 4,000 people each year.

Each year’s event showcased existing and new international groups in the Galway city. More than 20 teams from different countries took part in the competition each year.

Galway Intercultural Festival & BBQ has been developed into a vibrant festival of barbequing, music and entertainment with cultural performances from people from all over the world, who are now living in Galway City.

This festival celebrated cultural diversity and continuously promoted Galway as a ‘City of Equals’ and as a centre of multiculturalism and diversity throughout Europe.
